A series of bells measured out the prisoners' day.
They rang to tell the inmates when to eat, pray,
work, exercise or sleep...
Everything was regulated,
silent and anonymous.......

someone saw her restless soul inside
the Melbourne gaol..
(hee..me got a bit scare scare..
so dare not to take this women's photo in..

The hangman, Thomas Jones,
committed suicide two days before event.
His wife had threatened to leave him
if he hanged Mrs Knorr..." (wow..)
Police Watch house
The watch house experience is a forty minute
interactive experience like no other.
With a Charge Sergeant as guide,
visitors are ‘arrested’ and will encounter what it is like
to be locked up. Kept as minimalist as possible,
nothing has changed since the police and inmates left
the site in the mid-nineties. After the role play,
visitors self guide through the watch house
taking in sound points and multi media imagery
that is educational and informative
